Terms & Conditions for Donations

(BC Municipal Election – 2026)

1. Eligibility to Donate

By making a contribution, you confirm that you are:

  • An individual (not a corporation, business, organization, or union)

  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident

  • A resident of British Columbia

  • Making this contribution with your own funds, not on behalf of anyone else

  • Not otherwise prohibited from donating under the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (LECFA)

2. Contribution Limits

  • All contributions must comply with Elections BC contribution limits for the 2026 local elections.

  • Anonymous contributions are permitted only up to $50.

  • Contributions over $50 require full donor information.

3. Required Donor Information

For contributions over $50, you must provide:

  • Full legal name

  • Residential address (no PO boxes)

  • City and postal code

  • Confirmation of BC residency

  • Confirmation of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency

This information is required by Elections BC for campaign finance reporting.

4. Use of Funds

All contributions will be deposited into the campaign account and used solely for authorized campaign expenses in accordance with LECFA.

5. No Tax Receipts

Municipal campaign contributions in British Columbia are not tax‑deductible. No tax receipts will be issued.

6. Refund Policy

  • Contributions made in error may be refunded if requested within 30 days and if the funds have not yet been submitted in a campaign financing report.

  • Refunds cannot be issued after reporting deadlines or if prohibited by Elections BC rules.

7. Privacy & Disclosure

  • Donor information is collected for the purpose of complying with Elections BC reporting requirements.

  • Contributions over $100 will be publicly disclosed by Elections BC, including donor name and amount.

  • Your information will not be sold or shared for any other purpose.

8. Payment Security

All online payments are processed securely through our payment provider. No credit card information is stored by the campaign.

9. Authorization

By completing your donation, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions

  • You meet all eligibility requirements

  • Your contribution complies with Elections BC rules

  • You consent to the collection and reporting of your information as required by law
